I did a search on how to install the long moldings on my 70 elky bed, but came up empty.
I bought repros from opg and would really like to get them installed without damaging them.
I have them sitting on top just to get a idea how they might snap into place but thought it would be wise to ask the experts.
Any help would be appreciated

Are your clip's on the bed? Shouldn't they just snap on?

Did you get new clips with the kit? They will help hold the trim in place much better. The trim just "rolls" onto the clips. Then, if my failing memory is correct, they slide toward the front of the bed to nest into the corner trim piece. Then, I think I installed the rear corner piece. (This is where my memory gets bad). My bedside trim had notches in the underside hidden partion that kinda "locked" it to each corner piece. Hope this helps. I've had mine off and on at least three times. Just be patient and don't force anything. ;)

Another problem you might run into is the notches on the rail are different on repo's than they are factory one's.

Factory rail's (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/72sselcamino/bedrail.jpg)

As you can tell in the pic, the length of the notch is different on those 2 rail's. Those 2 are factory peice's, a left and a right. There is a front and back too. The repo's are both the same. As I have not got that far yet, I'm not sure what is the correct fix. You will either have to make 1 notch bigger, or move the clip. I would think make the notch bigger so the clip hold's close to the corner,,,but I'm not sure.

Has anyone used the repo's and had any issue's. Cal

I'm using the original clips that were on it. The rear clip is where i'm stumped. it seems to be riveted in. I see your point about just "rolling it over" and snapping into place.
I'm thinking of removing the rear corner pieces so i only have to roll it over the front corners to make things go a little easier, and then sliding the rear corners into the bedrails, leaving the screw out that attaches the rear corner. I'll have to check out the grooves made in the repro to see if they are close to the originals, if not, maybe my dremel tool will help me out there.
Thanks alot guys

I see you're from Il also. What part. How far are you from St. Louis. I'm right on the Il, Mo line.

I'm up near chicago, actually about 20 miles west of it. If you ever get up this way I'll show you around some local car shows.
Thanks again everyone
