The rear-end of my 1970 Elky sets to low without air in the air shocks. I have heard, that regular Chevelle springs are two inches taller than the stock Elky springs, is this true? Has anyone tried this? Like to have the weight on the springs and not shocks. Thanks.

Had the same problem with my '69 Elky. Bought and installed Moog #6435. Results were perfect. See photo at by web site.
By the way, GM air shocks require some pressure (like 10psi minimum) or they bind up.

Fred or Robert, what is the number on the Elky rear coil spring? I want the rear of my 70 Chevelle race car 2" lower. I am interested in buying yours if you descide to make the swap. Could be worth a try. Thanks...MK

I put AirLift air bags inside the rear coils. They work great with only 5 psi, will handle up to (I think) 40 psi. They do a good job of tighting up the rear end.
