: '66 Body/Frame bolts

I was removing my old body mount bolts on my '66 Beaumont today. I'm not able to do a full frame-off resto, but I do plan to lift the body up a bit to put a new mount kit in.

So far I have 10 out. 4 of them broke, so I'll have some fun getting those out. I haven't been able to get at the bolts up by the spring seats. They're going to be tricky.

So my question is this......
Is there just the 12 bolts on the '66 (excluding the rad support)? I've looked through all my reference info to see how many there should be. I also crawled all around under the car and can't see any more. Excluding the rad support (going down one side), I have one at the front (behind front wheel), one about half-way down the door length, one in front of the rear wheel, one up by the spring seat, one behind the wheel (all rusted out), and the last one at the end of the frame.

Does that have them covered?

Cheers,
Lyle

Sounds like it. That's all I had in my 67, same mounts.

The bushing kit that I just got has a list of the bushing locations for all applications. For a big block car it says you should have 10 bushings. The only car with 12 are convertables. I could fax you a copy it you need

And the one in the middle of the frame rail uses a shorter bolt then the rest.

Sounds good.

Once I get a hold of some air tools I'll be able to take a stab at the 2 bolts up by the spring seats. No amount of jockeying with my hand-ratchet would work. I suppose I'll need a universal extension to get a good bite on the bolt. Between that and the air tools, I should be able to get them out.

If you use a universal on your impact gun make sure that you are using impact quaility tools. Standard sockets can and will brake when used on an impact gun, parts will fly.

I was thinking of getting some 'extras' after I get my tools......this solidifies it.

Got your email this morning....no sweat....whenever you get the chance.
