Having some issues with my new AutoMeter UltraLite II Speedo.

The directions say to hook up like so:

But as you can see below, the terminals they have provided for me are for the lunar model according to the directions, and there is no way to plug anything into it. So basically where the directions say to plug in my wires, those posts are missing???

Any input?

Thanks

The diagram shows those 2 terminals to be for the gauge light, but it also shows a + and - connection for the round hole at the top of the gauge. Does it have a bulb holder that pushes into that round hole? If so, the +- connections should be on the bulb holder itself.

Yeah it has a bulb holder, but I would prefer to use the led function of the thing since that iswhy I paid so much for it.

What is the issue? You have one ground and one light terminal on the back of the speedo. Hook it up and boogey!

Yeah sometimes there are extra terminals and sometimes not. Happens when they use the same outside housings for different products.

I figured it's the only one I can use. I ended up calling them, and they said I had an old instruction manual and mine must not have shipped with the revision.

It seemed common sense to me, but after spending a couple hundred bucks on the thing, just wanted to make sure.

Now if I could just find out which drill bit and what kind to use to drill some holes in my Covan's dash I could start installing this thing.

A basic high speed twist drill bit will cut right through the plastic just fine. Just use a smaller size and then trim the hole carefully to the exact size you need using a sharp knife. You could also use a Dremel to cut/trim the hole to size.

Unless you are talking about gauge sized holes... and then the issue is more about locating and marking than it is about cutting.

Nah two Cig Lighters and making the whole bigger for the ignition. i will be adding LEDs later for my indicators, but that can wait.
