I doubt you will find much info at all. Joel Rosen is very protective of his cars and he won't release ANY info out unless he KNOWS that you have a genuine Motion car...and he charges $1500 JUST TO LOOK AT A CAR!!!!! I am lucky enough to know someone that owns a '69 Motion Camaro and to have seen the documentation that he gives on a car. In short, unless you have a Motion car, getting Motion parts is just about impossible http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif.

Not to infringe on your post andrewschevelle, but I have never heared of Baldwin Motion Stripes, what is this? Sounds pretty interesting- I wish I had a car I could charge 1500 dollars to look at.

I have a '69 Baldwin Motion Camaro. Stripe dimensions on it are 19" center then 1/4" space each side then 1/4" pinstipes for a total of 20" overall width. Sorry, can't help w/a Chevelle. Here's a picture of a camaro: http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/Supercars/69Baldwin/index.htm

Just thought I'd clarify-
They charge $1500 to look at YOUR car- if you want to try and have it verified as a true Baldwin-Motion car...

There was a dicast 70 chevelle availabe a year or so ago that was of a BM car.. had the stripes and stuff on it. That would probably be your best bet to try and fabricate your own from that. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

I bought that car recently and I want to paint my turbocharged 1970 chevelle similar to that, just to have something a little different from the rest that are around here.I currently own a 73 chevelle Laguna, a 66 Beaumont,a 68 Chevelle,2 72 chevelles,2 71 chevelles and a 1970 turbocharged Chevelle, also a 65 chevy van and a 64 gmc van http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I think the BM stripes would look killer on a chevelle for that exact reason- you just don't get to see them.

Its kinda cool that they guard the BM info so tightly because it saves the mistique around those rare cars- But it also sucks, because it would be cool to get some ideas from them...

www.diecastmuscle.com (http://www.diecastmuscle.com) look under chevelles. Not all the cars had the wild striping. Had a chance when I was a kid to trade for a 66 motion chevelle including original motion installed 427 (outof car with spun bearing) but passed on it because I liked my 68 malibu with a 283 better http://www.chevelles.com/forum/rolleyes.gif OOPS! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/eek.gif

Paint it like this: http://www.diecastmuscle.com/portal/store/Makes/Chevrolet/Chevelle/32396

That would look way cool!! Almost any color would work with the x color/black combo too...

If it were me...
I'd buy the model take careful measurements.
Lay them out, and make sure they look cool.
Then do it.

Those stripes look cool.

So friggin what if they are not exact.
I saw a Chevelle painted like a BM car before I knew what a Baldwin Motion car was, when I was still delivering news papers.
I doubt it was a real one even then.

If I had a 70, that wasn't a SS, I'd fake a Motion car.

P.S. A local guy faked a Yenko Camaro, He made a solid effort to make the car look "Right", and pulled it off. If you asked he admitted it was a clone.
But heck unless your rich, who can afford those cars any way. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

thad i agree. i see so many ss clones it is getting boring. i was just at a cruise and every 68-69 had the hood and trunk stripes. non had the 68-69 side stripes. i'm going with the yenko stripe kit with all the 427 emblems to make it as correct looking as i can. got a 454 in it but heck i'll de tune it! ha ha. i want something different that will make people look, not twice but three times.
