Ok, so i go out to the garage today to see a puddle of oil from the differential. The car has not been moved..why all of a sudden did it start leaking? Whats the problem? thanks

Last night was COLD. It could have been ready to start leaking and the cold shrunk the cover at a different rate then the housing. Once the oil finds a way out it doesn't stop. JUST AN IDEA

Possible the bolts weren't tightened enough. Start with torquing all of them to 16 foot pounds and see if this corrects the problem. If not then replace the rear cover seal and start again. Not a major problem by any means.

Did it leak from the cover or the pinion seal?
