My hot rod buddy and I bought a 1970 SS. The trim tag has the following info on it: ST7 70-13637 A 3006 7
TR 755 B090 !7 B
02D 238172 980426

The serial number is 136370A137436.
Can some of you good folks give me a decode of these numbers? Thanks so much.
Mike

ST70- 1970
A 30067- body number, should be AT30067?
TR 755- Black vinyl bench seat interior
17 B PNT- Shadow gray lower color with a black vinyl top
B80 B90 these two codes are on most Atlanta built cars, the B80 is the chrome on the drip rail, and the funny thing is, the B90 is for window frame chrome, which these cars can not have as they are hardtop cars.
02D Body build date, 4th week of February 1970
238172 980426 One of these is the Dep seq no. found in box 24 of the build sheet. Can't remember what the other number is right off the top of my head.
Hese is some good info, if the car has the original interior, pull off the front door inside panels. There WILL be a build sheet on one of them, IF they are the originals.

Dave: Thanks for the info. I will look tomorrow on those front door panels. This car was an original grey car with a vinyl top-just like the trim tag says. After that it has been a light blue and then a real dark blue-neither GM colors, I think. I scraped all this paint off including the primer in between coats(using 'aircraft paint stripper'). Is it possible for this removed paint to weigh 40-50 pounds?! I filled a big garbage can up-having to push it down to get all the scraped paint in there.
Thanks for your help. I will advise on that build sheet.
