My '68 El Camino occasionally will not crank. You turn the key and sometimes you hear the key buzzer, sometimes not, and maybe once every 100 starts nothing happens. There is a slight dim to the interior lights, but no sound from the starter (solenoid, etc.). From what I understand the electrical path is from the battery, through the ignition switch, then straight to the starter solenoid located on the GM starter. Is that correct? Are there any other devices in line such as seat-belt switches, neutral switch (4-speed Saginaw)?

This problem seems to happen both when the are is cold as well as hot.

thx for any help!

There is (or should be) a switch on your clutch pedal that might need some adjustment
