i have a badly rusted out trunk that i am going to replace in my 65 chevelle. the only kits they sell are in three pieces. would it best best to get one of these kits or make it out of sheet metal? what have you done?

Are you sure?? I remember Car Craft doing a article awhile back and they said you could get them either way.
Did you check with Sherman (auto body panels)

I welded in the three piece setup, used GM seam sealer at all the joints, splatter paint and carpet. Turned out great!

pretty sure because i have looked for months and have only found three piece ones. they have one piece ones for all the other years except for mine.

in your trunk have you had any leaks? also how did you attatch the three together?

Actually, the trunk kit should be a 7 piece kit, 3 pieces for the pan, 2 body mount pieces and 2 floor stiffeners for the gas tank.

They do make a whole panel.Ground up has them.

I used the 3 piece in mine because the one piece didnt go all the way to the sides. I welded the 3 pieces together then ground the welds and covered it with a little filler. It looks perfect.
