Guys,

Im building a street driven 540 and after seeing that dominator vs hp1000 thread, i think that the hp 1000 setup would probably be better for me.

Right now, ive got a BG mighty demon 750 on my 468. love the carb. excellent throttle response.

What i wanted to know is can i take the bowls and guts off of the mighty demon and wrap them around a hp1000 main body?

I see an hp1000 body on ebay for 170 bucks.

Is this a good way to go, will it be a PITA to set up? should i just sell my carb and get an hp1000?

I already have an intake with a 4150 base, but can sell it for one of those C454 intakes (hood clearance) with the 4500 base?

thanks guys

jeff

HP1000 uses a 4150 base, not 4500.
4500 is dominator.
I dont think, mixing BG stuff and Holley stuff would be a great idea though.

yeah, id rather use a 4150 based hp1000. as far as BG and holley stuff, i think they are interchangeable... at least thats what BG says...

any ideas?

I have not heard to much good about BG stuff, especially big inch high horse motors however hollys work great!Very tunable

couple guys running king demons around here and they seem to like them. i like my mighty demon...like freaking fuel injection. no hesitation at all and pulls hard. tons of tunability...

at any rate, is there any reason why i couldnt mount up my metering blocks, bowls, linkage to a holley main body? does anyone know if the fuel paths (exit point from the metering block to the main body) are the same?

thanks guys

Your 750 Mighty Demon uses a 1-11/16" butterfly baseplate, while the 1000HP main body uses a 1-3/4" butterfly baseplate. If you're just getting the main body you'll need to purchase a baseplate as well at that point. The bowls, and metering blocks will bolt onto the HP main body.
