I have the standard assembly manual for my 64 Chevelle. I cannot find the section that references the door & hinge assembly. It's not near the fender section. My manual has a header the says Drafting Graphic in the upper left corner

Brob,
Assembly Manual was produced by Chevrolet and only covers "car division" installed parts, not Fisher Body installed parts.

Hey Fred: How did they break up these responsibilities within an assembly plant? I am sure that the many parts put together at a vehicle assembly plant were not all covered by the Chevrolet organization, so how did they handle the different specs and instructions from Fisher vs Chevrolet in a Chevrolet plant?

Fred why does my manual show a fender and not a door?. What I have done is miss place the bolts for the hinge not the ones with the taper but the flat head one's. I don't know if they have a washer or not

hello again,i went through my assembly manual you are correct that it doesnt show anything about the doors (perhaps fisher mounted them for painting reasons before they went to the chevrolet side of the factory)however my 1964 chevelle shop manual shows and tells how to mount the doors and my shop manual shows and tells me that there are supposed bolts on the hinge to body portion.again i hope this helps.chaz
