now, if Notre Dame can pull out a win over USC, we might have a January 8th, 2007 re-match

What the U of M wants to get beat twice in one year by the Buckeyes?
Go Buckeyes!
JNorton Nov 19th, 06, 7:32 PM A rematch would be fine. Jim Tressel OWNS Lloyd Christmas...errrr Carr.
Andy69 Nov 19th, 06, 7:49 PM It will be awesome when the ****eyes bite it hard in the title game

Yeah, we don't mind losing to ohio state. After all, it's only football. Besides, we like ohio state, there's got to be a school besides Michigan State for the people who aren't smart enough to get into Michigan.:p
Go Blue.
Ricks70ss Nov 19th, 06, 8:51 PM just what the hel* is a buck eye???? anyways??
FameSS-396 Nov 19th, 06, 9:32 PM SEC plays the most difficult schedule and gets screwed out of the title game again. Ohio State and Michigan were most impressive, but they play an easy schedule compared to playing SEC teams week in and out. Florida should be in the title game if they beat Arkansas.

Precisely why they need to ditch the whole bowl game deal and go with a playoff
FameSS-396 Nov 19th, 06, 9:39 PM Precisely why they need to ditch the whole bowl game deal and go with a playoff
Absolutely!
Old, fat, bald guy Nov 19th, 06, 9:41 PM hey, c'mon you guys, let them have their fun..... I mean, they rarely get the chance to gloat about beating Michigan that they really shouldn't be held to a higher standard and be good winners like the Michigan fans........... and besides, if Ohio didn't suck, Michigan would float away in the great lakes :waving:
you might have won the game, but you still have Toledo (nanner, nanner, nahhhnnnneeerrrrrr :D )
A look at the history of the Michigan / OSU footbal games shows Michigan won 58 times; OSU has been victorious in only 37 games, with five ties. Most rivalries are more or less 50/50 in terms of wins and losses. (not Michigan / osu)
But as Coach John Cooper once said, "You can have a good season if you win the rest of your games...but you can't have a great season unless you beat Michigan." Losing to Michigan is unforgivable.
from a columbass ohio paper..... just so the oh-HIGH-oh fans don't try to discredit the source as coming from Michigan http://columbusoh.about.com/cs/historygenealogy/a/ohiomichigan.htm
its the greatest rivalry in sports and the goverment says so http://detroit.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=detroit&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fthomas.loc.gov%2Fcgi-bin%2Fquery%2Fz%3Fc108%3AH.%2BRes.%2B460%3A

Yeah right. If the cheerleaders mix it up in a vat of Jello we'll still kick ND's butt.

i'm just sayin' John........... stranger things HAVE happened after all, I mean, OSU did just beat Michigan so maybe this is the year for those less privileged :D
LateNight72 Nov 19th, 06, 10:24 PM Wow, the buckeyes won by 3 IN Columbus. :clonk: So if they played anywhere else (like IF they have a rematch), Michigan will win.
But I think It should be OSU, FL, Mich, ND, USC. USC's schedule is the 20th toughest in the nation, FL's is 6th.

Todd

Yeah, but we were also playing against the officials ;) There were a couple of bs CALLS THAT MADE THAT GAME CLOSER THEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN..

hmmm. I watched the whole game and I have no idea what you are referring to...
Andy69 Nov 20th, 06, 12:09 PM On a lighter note, 3 Big Ten teams in the BCS top 10 is pretty cool

Glad to hear you guys don't mind losing to us, 3 in a row and counting. Hope to see you again on Jan. 8. :waving:

Ohio State and Michigan dont even have a championship game!, and Notre Dame doesn't play anybody either! They have got to get a play off set. This BS has gone on long enough! Heck, SouthernCal plays in a weak conference also. If its not USC its ND, damn media from the north and west. To heck with the media, play it out on the field, thats the only way to get a true champion!, but then the media wouldn't have anything to report on.
I will say that Ohio State and Michigan played a great game, congrads to Ohio State.

yeah, like that "high hit" on troy smith..... outta the pocket 5'10" quarter back running for the side lines and decides to throw it just as a 6'3" defensive lineman has little troy in his sights...... and then gets called for a 15 yarder and automatic 1st down that sets up ohio for a touchdown...... yeah, calls like that  ........ shoot, put any tall guy hitting a short guy and you'll get a "high hit"
I will say that I saw some calls that were marginal that affected BOTH sides, and I saw some penalties that didn't get called on BOTH sides.... but you gotta admit, winning in the Horseshoe by 3 points isn't what I'd call a "decisive" victory...... kinda like winning by 3 points in the "Big House" isn't a "decisive" victory either...... but 3 points does make it a victory.
LateNight72 Nov 20th, 06, 9:23 PM Come on' OFBG, Troy Smith according to OSU, is 6'1"
Anyways, we all know the BCS standings are a popularity vote. If you're team is liked, cough Pac-10 cough, then no matter how crappy you are, they'll boost ya up.

6'1"? besides, and be objective, did you really think that was an appropriate call? look at the replay and you'll see a quarterback heading for the sidelines, but still looking to pass..... it was the defensemens (2 there) responsibility to make sure smith didn't get more yardage or get the pass off...... by the time Smith made his move, the defensemens momentum carried through and they bumped Troy...... it was an "iffy" call at best.
anyway, its amazing how many people are having a problem with an OSU / U of M rematch, but have no problem with Notre Dame playing Michigan....... hmmmm, didn't Michigan beat ND early in the season? so why would an OSU / U of M rematch be bad, but a U of M / Notre Dame rematch be good?
until we can get rid of Tressel, its gonna be a long, hard fought battle for Michigan
LateNight72 Nov 21st, 06, 3:51 PM until we can get rid of Tressel, its gonna be a long, hard fought battle for Michigan
No all you have to do is get rid of Troy Smith. I'll admit, he can make plays.

Say what you will, but helmet to helmet contact on the QB is going to draw the flag EVERY time... There were SEVERAL calls that seemed to go for Michigan, one of which kept a drive alive that led to a TD.. I think it was pass interference if my memory serves:confused: .. You'll have to pardon my confusion, I watched the game in a packed Hooters restaurant in Atlantic City, there were way to many distractions ;) :waving: I do remember there being a few calls that had me throwing chicken wings at the TV though........
jks67SS396 Nov 21st, 06, 5:47 PM the refs definitely made that a closer game that it shoulda been. come back on the 8th... we'll hand your @$$ to you again :) Go Bucks :)
red '69 Nov 21st, 06, 6:04 PM I think a good solution is to make the quarterbacks wear pink jerseys.

I will watch pro and college ball when there is a good game on or when I dont have anything better to do.
I would rather be out fishing, jetskiing, etc...

AMEN, brother :D :beers:
theyre ranked no.2 because they got beat by the no. 1 ranked team in the country, why doesnt that make sense?... chances are (failing major upsets) there will be a rematch for the national championship...the current system is not without its flaws but, it sure beats the one it replaced, theres almost less than zero chance a playoff system like the nfl will, or even could be implemented, given the bowl game heritage handed them, and mostly (no surprise here) the money bowl games have and will continue to generate
by the way, it all seemed to work out pretty well last year, i dont think a whole lot of people would argue usc and texas didnt belong in what turned out to be a pretty good game for the national championship

looks like USC is gonna move up - if they can beat UCLA next week. Don't think that will be a problem after watching them manhandle Notre Dame.

Maybe but ND went down pretty hard this year. I expected more of a game out of them. Sure wished the cheerleaders would have mixed it up. Nothing better than a good jello free for all.

Yea, but just remember, they also lost to an unranked Oregon State.. :boring:
