Well I've come to the realization that to get my son's 70 properly aligned I'm going to have to put offset cross shafts in. Can the upper bushing be removed without damaging it? Reason I ask is we put new PST polygraphite bushings in this spring/summer and I really don't want to buy a whole set. Emailed PST and it appears they don't or won't sell the bushings seperately. My thought is to take one out and slide the offset shaft in and then re-install the bushing. Sound like it will work? Any other ideas or suggestions. Don't have anyone around here willing or able to open the frame up so I can avoid the offset shaft installation  . Any advice appreciated. TIA Pete

have you tried going to your local napa or autoparts store to see if they have the removal tool. You might even call your local alignment shop see what they can help you with.

Stick it in the freezer, the inside should slide out with a little pressure after several hours.

Won't do him any good- the sleeves are the part that is too wide to get the cross shaft in or out... I had a bushing disetegrate, and still couldn't get it out. I Had to remove the shells. to get the cross shaft out.

I order two bushings from PST and they had no complaints. I happen to have two extra round poly bushings from PST for my 72 I don't know if they are the same or not but they are yours if you want them.

See this link. No damage to the bushing at all.
