I saw a '67 SS 396 advertised with a white trim stripe that runs the lengh of the car. Does anyone know if this original option is paint or tape? Thsi stripe (two pieces) runs the length of the car and wraps around the wheel wells.

The stripe that curves above the wheel openings was the optional stripe for the SS396. There was a standard stripe on the SS396 that was narrower and did not continue above the wheel openings. In both cases, the stripes were vinyl and came in one of four colors: white, black, red, or blue. The color of the stripe was not a choice of the buyer, but was determined by the color combination of the vehicle.

F4scope, I have the standard stripe on my 67 SS. I'm in Houston if you want to look at one.
