Dear All,
I am planning on purchasing a ford 9" housing from currie. Which axle housing bearing type is best for high performance use? I know of three different types, the small style bearing, the big or versailles bearing, and the torino or late model big bearing. Which one is going to take the most abuse, all other factors aside? Which is the best design?
Thanks,
Scottie

I have the big bearings with the o-ring on my drag car and the only problem I have had is one cracked by the o-ring. It hasn't happened since I had the rear narrowed. The old one could have been in a bind.

The Torino bearing will probably give you more brake options. Can you get it with the Chevy brake pattern? Both of the big bearings are the same, the only difference is the bolt pattern for the brakes. I wouldn't go with the small bearings.
