What's the story on production of 70-72 Convertible 1/4 panels? Anybody hear about a tooling break down? Still need a Right Side 1/4 panel for my 70 Ragtop. Help please.

My dealer told me the same thing. The right side tooling broke and they are not sure they are going to fix it. The price tag was around $100,000. I have checked and CARS makes the convertible quarters also. List price is $100 higher than Goodmark. Chuck Hanson did use CARS quarters on his '70 L78 Convertible in 1998 and had a series in Chevelle World about it. I haven't contacted CARS yet as I'm not needing the quarter yet. If you call them, please let me know the status.

Oh well, I'll try CARS or maybe someone has one RH side somewhere.
This will surely drive up the prices once again. What a Country.
Thanks

I don't know if you have found your RH side goodmark
Convert 1/4. But the local goodmark dealer here has one in
stock. (Even though I do not live out here). It is at
American Graffitti, in Denver, Colorado. 1-800-300-1494. I
think he said the price was $695.

Hope that helps.

The quarters are once again available. There is a pair on Ebay right now from Gene's General Store and I saw that the Parts Place had them in stock also. My local dealer confirmed that they are once again available as I need the right one also.

Howdy,

Hey Kev....like Gary I saw pairs of Goodmark convertible quarters on eBay this week. $1200 a pair I think. Did not see just right side price.

A word of caution, just make sure that these are the new and improved ones which are suppose to be better that the last stampings before the tooling was repaired.Goodmark told me when I called them about the hard top 1/4 's that the metal was even going to be thicker on the new stampings. Some people might have held on to some of the old ones hoping that the price would go up because at one time there was talk that the tooling might not be repaired because it was too costly. So now they might be unloading the older panels that they had. This may not be the case but I would make sure that they are the new stampings. So Buyer beware.
