The trip a few weeks ago from Kansas City. Since then we have changed to a roller cam, (solid lift cam lasted about 30 miles) water pump and all pulleys, installed the "wonderful" Alumitech rad/fans,rear trailing arms, just about re-wired the whole car, fuel lines.....blah blah and still ain't done!! But, I love it!

A black 66 Chevelle is one of the finest cars in the world, after my green one!

A black 66 SS396 around my area in 69-70 was what planted this insane desire in me, I guess....

I may go that color if I ever get time and money. For now, green is good.

Great lookin' car. The '66 is my alltime favorite Chevelle and I've never owned one. I've been looking for the right one for 15 yrs or so, but it just never seems to turn up. Black/black would be ultimate, followed closely by red/red or red/black. I know of a 360 horse Red/black, but it's completely disassembled and the owner wants more for it than I think a car in boxes is worth to me.

(Incidentally, the difference between a 454 and 427 is the crank and pistons. If you have a 427 crank, you've gotta have the pistons, or you don't have much compression............ so, what you have there is a 427.)
