Anybody running the Brute Strength (4 series) unit on the street ? I was told that I will get wheel chatter on corners due to the 800lb preload on the springs.I read somewhere that it is not recomended for the street?

I run the 800 lb springs and an all steel clutch pac on the street with NO posi additives.
No problems! Works flawless.

You can also swap the springs with the stock GM parts, I did and it works fine.

The Moroso unit also has a 22 disc clutch in it instead of the 18 disc, so there is a lot more friction area too. These discs have to fit into the same space that the 18 discs fit into, so they are thinner. This can cause some wear problems with the splines on the discs. If you inspect it now and then you can avoid having any problems with it. This is a good drag race posi with some limited street use. I'd say that more people have some chatter problems with the clutcehs that not, but they should be mild and can be reduced with the oil additive.

It's a brand new unit that I have not used yet,I took it out to do some work on the housing. I had it installed and set up but never drove it.
The car will be mostly street (corner carver) with some time at the track (1/8 + 1/4 mile).
Is there a better option ? I still wan't to be able to launch it hard w/600+ hp and take fast corners.

A Torsen or Truetrac will work better for corners. The moroso unit is going to cause some problems in curves because it is designed for drag racing where you want both tires to turn exactly the same. You want the tires to torn at different speeds in curves, and the Moroso is going to fight this. You might find the rear end breaking loose in corners with the Moroso.
