How can you tell the difference between the TH250 and the TH350? I'm Going to look at a tranny this weekend and dont want to get stuck!!

11 panbolts on a TH250 and 13 pan bolts on a TH350

Not 100% true. You are thinking of the TH200.

There is a TH250 that uses the EXACT same pan as the TH350. The TH250 will have a second gear band adjustment screw/locknut on the case. Otherwise they are identical externally, AFAIK.

Doh! Your right. Not much info on differences....

3 speed automatic. Uses a modulator on right rear of case and a Passing gear cable. A 250C is a light duty version and uses a adjustable band for 2nd. (250's are not very common)"

"THM250 - Used in small 4 cylinder cars (Vega, Sunbird, Monza) from 1973 to 1981 and some Nova/Camaro/Chevelle 6 cylinders in 1974 & 75. The 4 cylinder models have 4 large cooling holes near the torque converter, while on the "bigger cars" there are no cooling holes."
