more torque from long tubes!

Nothing...its all about proper tuning length. Intake runners and exhaust tubes should be tuned by lengths to optimize the intake or exhaust pulse length. By doing this an engine can be optimized.

I may be able to give you an answer in 2 months or so.
I'm gonna have full length headers built for my Luv, its got block huggers now.
I will take it back out to the track, so we should see a mph diff - as far as hp diff. But full length will mostly add mid range power, shorties will make more at high rpm.

Longer headers (tube lengths at least 34") improves bottom and mid range performance, while short headers (tube lengths between 28-32") improve top end performance.

In addition to header length the following factors are important:

1. Tube size
2. Collector size
3. Collector length
4. True equal length header tube design
5. Efficient collector shaping
6. Efficient port matching
