I have noticed both plastic as well as metal front wells. Is there any correct or wrong application or is the application randon among the plants?
THANKS

Both of our '69 Baltimore built Chevelles have plastic inners. One is a February car and the other is July. Does anyone have an original car that they know for sure came with one steel and one plastic inner.

My '69 Malibu built in Fremont, CA has both a steel and plastic inner fender well. My car is very original and has not been taken apart from what I can tell, however who knows. Confirms the fact that some are seeing either all steel, all plastic or a mixed use of the the two.

Was plastic exclusive to big block cars? Just curious.

My '69 Malibu (350/PG) had one of each...plastic inner was on the pass side.
I always thought it was to help prevent battery corrosion on that side.

I don't think engine size mattered, my 307/PG Malibu had plastic from Kansas ( 5th week of Oct, 68).

My '69 307/PG car has metal on the right and plastic on the left(I suppose it was to prevent battery corosion?). I bought the car from the original owner and it has never been wrecked, so I know they are original. Kind of odd, huh?
