I just picked up a one owner 70 Malibu that has an add-on rubber molding running down the side to protect from door dings. What should I use to remove it without hurting the original paint?

3M makes a spray can for removing rubber weatherstripping. I imagine that would work

The best thing I've found, is good ole wax & grease remover. It takes some elbow grease, and a finger nail, but it does come off.
Sometimes you can kind of "roll" it off with just your finger with no solvent. It really depends on the adheasive, and how long it's been on there.

Warm it up with a heat gun or hair dryer, then pull strip off slowly. Then use wax/grease remover or get some adhesive remover from a paint store.Little elbow grease and a rag should be all you need...
