I want to fill in the holes on the doors and rear quarters that the trim snaps into on a 70. I have searched and I know the best way to do this is to weld the holes up with copper behind it. But my welding skills are not that good.

Any other way of doing this with body puddy, I was going to dimple the holes use 40 grit and level. Will this last with opening and closeing the doors?

Last has anybody ever use Auto air paint?

thanks for the any feedback

Maybe you could try using a piece of metal larger than the hole and panel adhesive on the backside. Then you could easily fill the remaining hole. Just one option.

Do not use putty to fill trim holes. It will be a nightmare in 2-3 years when it all starts to come loose. Trust me, if you put a piece of copper behind the hole, there is no way you could screw it up..
