I remember seeing a kit sold to replace missing pins around the windshield and rear window. Of course, now that I find I need to replace several I can't find the article!

Anyone know where to get the pins and are they weld in or tapped?

Mike. If you are going to weld, you could use ordinary nails. Just grind the head to the appropriate measurement.

Mike-

The correct way it to use a uni-welder and spot weld them on with a special attachment. OR some people just use sheetmetal screws.

I have used Stainless Steel screws in places where the pins broke/rusted off with good success. I tap the hole with the screw then remove the screw and put a "dab" of body sealer on the screw thread and into the hole itself. This has worked well and I have never had a leak as a result of doing that. You also have to make sure that the area is very clean and if sanded or anything that leaves bare metal exposed is sealed with primer and paint. A Q-Tip or small tiny brush works wonder's.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the ideas....... I like the stainless steel screw idea.

I might have found the place with replacement studs that screw in..... I will call them tomorrow and if so, I will post here.

I found them for 30 cents each. When they get here and I have a chance to inspect them I will share where and the quality of the part. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
