Was having a chat with a neighbor the other night. He said that his friend had a vinyl top sprayed on his car. Something similar to the spray on bed protectors for trucks.
Is there a quality product that looks good and is durable like this? Is it a good thing?

My opinions are usually worth what they cost you. But once in a while I know what I am talking about. Humor, fun, a few new friends, and good ole knowledge of these classics are why I am here. Your mileage may vary. ACES # 04981

Oh yuck! I haven't seen a sprayed on vinyl top in years! I put those in the same class as port-o-walls(fake white side walls), padded bras, decal flames, etc. If you have a nice car, don't even consider it.

I totally agree.
EDIT: except for the padded bra thing. Those are good a good thing.

I like to keep looks as close to stock as possible. I've never seen a spray on top, but it doesn't sound good.
and a comment on the padded bra --- may be a good thing but they can't hold a candle to the real thing.

Yep, it wasn't much more than black spatter paint. Looked fake and didn't last.

Elcaminos are special!
I'd rather walk around with a Chevrolet hubcap in my hand than drive a Ford
