Yes its steel the waviness is slight but its definitly going to require some attention it is located on each corner of the scoop where the metal curves up, they know about it as this one was obviously sanded/ground in the area then coated. I believe it will work out but the dealer wouldn't even budge 10% for me to take it, i got the old "well go buy it somewhere else then" ya like they make them everywhere!

Ed the hood cost was $498 with tax, no shipping as i just drove over to CARS in Berkley and picked it up. I see your in Mich. call them and see if they have one or when they will order from goodmark again and get them to add one to the order for you. Thats how i did it and there was no shipping.

There is a guy on ebay that sells new goodmark hoods, and is cheaper then going to goodmark. He wants $399 for the 68-69 cowl hood and $89 to buisness, or $119 to home.

I got the one for the 66.I too was pleased with the hood.A little bit of gring marks around the nose of the hood and the front trim holes were too high and needed to be slotted down.My car was shot in Acyrlic Enamel years ago,so Ive tried to reshoot the hood in the same. But haven't had much luck with it just yet(have to redo it)...Im in the middle of painting my Elky(last weekend) so Ive put the 66 hood on the back burner for now....Hope to have pics of the Elky's paint job soon.It turned out REAL nice I think.....03 Sunset Orange GM

Got mine when they first came out. Think I paid $449+$95 shipping. I'm real pleased with it. Still working on master cylinder/brake lines etc. when I'm done with that will install and will take some pix and post. Gives me the extra clearance needed for tall deck. Yes, if your going to get one, search for it on ebay, a little cheaper. Brad.

Hey flywheel, I heard there was some major stamping issues with the 66 version of the hood, do you have one of the re-tooled ones???
