hello guys maby someone out there has my answer.
I recently finished rebuilding a 454 for my 1972 chevelle. The casting number identifies it as a 1975 casting.
earlier this evening I was installing it in my car and the
engine won't line up with my motor mounts. moroso
solid steel mounts pn. 62510.
I went out and bought a stock set of rubber mounts,....
same thing. The motor plates that mount to the frame
are the original ones.
The engine is sitting about a inch off to the left and
the you can not fit the bolt through the one mount.
Any suggestions....
Thanks.

I figure that just maybe that you need BB frame mounts as well as maybe BB rubber mounts..
I know my First Gen. Camaro car is this way...

In the opgi. catalog the chevelle uses the same frame mounts
bb or sb.

In the opgi. catalog the chevelle uses the same frame mounts
bb or sb.
with one exception..the 307. It had mounts of its own. They will work on other sb's and BB's but both halves must be a set. If you have a set of 307 frame stands only the 307 rubber mount will line up.

Do you stil have the old rubber mounts that were on the small block? If so compare them to the new rubber mounts or try them on the engine and see what happens.

See if the oil pan's hitting the crossmember.
Chevelle's use a specific pan.

I just did the 350 to 454 swap in my 73 LeMans, it's Canadian so it is identical to a Chevelle with respect to drivetrain. My engine is a LE8 out of an '84 GMC one ton dually. I did a lot of research and speaking to guys who have done this many times. I was told to use the mounts already in the car on the frame and to transfer the ears from the 350 to the 454. The engine dropped in place with a loud click, we fed the bolts through and tightened them up. It couldn't have been easier. With respect to oil pan I sourced a '73 Chevelle SS454 pan and it worked out fine as well. I chucked the truck pan and it is is significantly different.

my car originally came with a 307sbc and i now have a big block in it, i just put in 3 days ago , anyway i use poly mounts on the block an the original frame mounts , the mounts are diff on each side 1 has a hole and the other the passenger side has a slot so when you put the mounts on the block make sure u do the same , my previous bbc i had in there i did not notice that and i to had a hard time getting it in , hope this helps.

You might try swapping the frame mounts from one side to the other as I believe there is a RH & LH. Could be the alignment issue ?
Good luck
