: Mmmm, coffee
Cameano Nov 11th, 06, 2:25 PM So I went to Wallyworld last night for some wiper blades for the Durango. Was headed back up towards the cashiers when I walked by a rack of coffee cups with island designs, for $1.88 each. Wow, good deal, and they're good looking. So hey, I'll take an assorted dozen for gifts, easy Christmas shopping for relatives over there on the mainland. So now I'm again, walking towards the cashiers, when I see they have the Christmas coffee packages out. So I wander over to see, and they've got some new flavors for the season. And they're on sale, even. Well, it wouldn't be right to give coffee cups without coffee, right? So I loaded up a dozen or so different flavors there.
This morning, that can of Folgers just didn't look appealing, with all those new flavors sitting in the bag. So I'm enjoying a nice coconut rum latte Kona blend right now. Mmmm. Starbucks ain't got nothin' on this stuff. I'm growing weary of the burnt mud they pour for me whenever someone wants to stop in for a poofter coffee for themselves.
For those of you interested, the stuff I'm enjoying can be had here (http://www.hawaiianisles.com/products.asp?dept=11). :) Wallyworld has 'em for just over half those prices, though.
Andy69 Nov 11th, 06, 2:33 PM mmmm sounds nummy.
If you brew that Folgers in a percolator instead of a Mr Crappie, it will taste much much better.
So will the good stuff.
erikbuzz Nov 11th, 06, 3:45 PM Try using a french press. It will change your life ;) It seriously makes the coffee so much better.
Daren71 Nov 11th, 06, 3:55 PM I have given up on Starbucks, I don't see what everyone else that goes there see's. I agree with you Darren, it always tastes burnt. If you want a fancy arse latte blah blah blah, that's $6.00 then there you go. Around here I will go out of my way for a large double double at Tim Hortons. Daren

pdq67 Nov 11th, 06, 11:30 PM My Son threw away a little old aluminum quart percolator that I dug out of the garbage can.. He got it for camping is all at a flea market for a buck...
I couldn't bring myself to throw it away and I use it at least three times a week!! It doesn't even have a top screen in it anymore so I just let the grounds settle as I drink it...
My Mom flat wore out a Revere Ware SS Quart pot through the years so I figure that is why I like perked coffee to this day..
Dad used to drink the darn stuff darn near right out of the pot, it was so hot when I was a pup!!

BlueSS454 Nov 12th, 06, 12:35 AM I don't really drink coffee, but I will say that I tasted the new Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Cappucino at Wawa and it was awesome.
kevin d Nov 12th, 06, 10:08 AM Kona is my favorite coffee. Unfortunately, it costs about $18-20 per pound over here.
