Greetings!

So, I have these new door weatherstrip pieces for the Sprint, going on this weekend with a little luck. What's the best way to install them? Do I hang the top, put the glue on the door and then pop in the tabs, or do I pop in the tabs, then put the glue between, or what? How long should it all set before closing the door? I'm in San Diego, and it just might be an 80 degree weekend!!!

advTHANKSance

I usually test fit the weatherstrip first, to determine the installation procedure. I apply the glue to the weatherstrip as I go, and use tape to hold it in place. With holding clips this could be much easier. I'm a little un-familiar with your particular application, with install clips/tabs do you even need glue?? As for set up time in warm temps it can be very fast. Just use plenty of adheasive to make sure you end up with glue on the upholstery, steering wheel, paint, in your hair, ect. LOL j/k I speak from experience. Good luck.

I'm not an athority, but with the little plastic tab clips, I didn't use glue at all. They fit nice in the grooves and the clips held tight to the metal.

I didn't want a glue in the hair day so I tried it without, figuring I could always go back and glue if I had to. Worked out pretty good and I know I'm not all gummed up for the next time I want to repaint.

I taped them back and shut the doors, left them in the sun for as long as I could (3 days total) and I still had one that formed the wrong way. Still sealed, just looks wierd http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
