The tech sheet says to let water sheet it off but says nothing about drying the surface afterwards. I read a while back on here to dry it with a towel after pouring the water on, is that correct? If so how much do I dry it with the towel? If I buff it too much with the towel won't that remove the zinc oxide barrier that the DX579 and DX520 has created?
ie.. the whole purpose for using the neatriliser? Thanks, Zach

Hey Zachscc - I'm using the same products. Can't find a straight answer on that very question either. I've been wiping until the rag is clean, then applying the DX520 conditioner, rinsing and wiping again.

Dx579 is a prepaint conditioner. It cleans the metal for topcoats or a chemical coating(dx520).
Dx520 is an acid based product that will leave behind a zinc phosphate coating.
579 NEEDS to be mixed in a ratio of 1:2 with water. Apply the 579 mixed with water over the surface. Its best to apply with a spray bottle and mist it on. Allow 2-3 mins of react time then rinse off with water. The water needs to SHEET out the surface, if not then you need to reapply 579 til it does.
Once the surface SHEETS off wipe it dry with a clean towel.
Now apply the 520 straight no water, also best to apply with spray bottle. Can also use a light scuff pad to work the product in. Allow 2-3 mins of react time then rinse again making sure you have ALL the product rinsed off.
Then use a towel to wipe dry, any spots that cant be reached with towel a air hose wil take care of that, just use LOW pressure no need to blast it out.
