I have a couple of chips in my paint I would like to touch them up before they start to rust. The color is Astro Blue. Can I get some touch up paint like you get from the dealer? Any links to supplers would be helpful.

TIA, Kevin

Any place that mixes paint can mix some for you if you get the color code for them.
Or, if it is just a small chip, let them mix something close. Its not going to match perfect any way. Take a small brush and "fill" the chip a light layer at a time. Let it dry a good 5-10 min in between layers.

Then touch the toothpick into the center of the chip and the paint will draw out off the toothpick and out into the chip. This way the ridges of the chip actually stop the paint when it is filling in the chip and you will have a much smoother coverup. You wont have to go back and forth over the chip with the brush and feather it as much into your existing paint. You will have a small blob though, if the touch up paint sits higher than your orginal paint use a small piece of sandpaper glued to the eraser side of a pencil and sand it down (like you were erasing text from a paper). You'll need small clear as well to finish it up. Then buff out the section and your mint. Go slow and take your time and sometimes these chips almost disappear all together to the point they are almost un-noticeable.

BTW - Surf over to detailcity.com, do a search on rock chips and you will find a few vendors that supply full tilt kits for this.

Sorry, no time to search their board for the links to suppliers but there are many there and they can mix up whatever you want and send it out in a bottle, pen, whatever you need.
