Hey everybody, I'm new to the board. I have some questions about the early Chevelle cowl hoods that were vac actuated.

I'm trying to change the setup I have on my '70 Camaro with an '81 Z28 hood that has a functional scoop door that is actuated by an electric soleniod. I want to have the door open constantly when the car is running, but I think I would burn out the soleniod pretty quickly that way.

I want to adapt a vac. setup similar to what the early Chevelles w/ cowl induction used to my Camaro hood.

Does anybody know

1) What parts are necessary for the setup?

2) Are they available from the aftermarket? Chevrolet? or do I have to scour the junk yards? Any vac accessories from other cars I might be able to use.

3) Any info about catalogs, part numbers, good or bad aspects to the setup would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help. You guys have a great board here.

Check out YEAR ONE on the web. You can buy piece by piece or the entire cowl induction set up from them. Most of it is quality stuff.

I checked out Year One online and I couldn't find the parts. There online stuff is limited until they get the database up to speed. Or, did I just look in the wrong area?

Anybody else?
