Johnny O Nov 9th, 06, 6:48 PM Welcome!! (name?) Well, they're all projects, but you gotta start somewhere, right? Nice car, it doesnt look like it needs all that much. Im sure you will be very happy when it's all done. You've come to the right place for all the help you need. John
oldtimebaseballfan Nov 9th, 06, 11:13 PM I like it. Did you get it for 13k?
texastornado Nov 10th, 06, 12:08 AM Any comments on that buildsheet?

WAX-UM Nov 10th, 06, 9:55 PM Great cant wait to get her home. Its very hard to find a good solid restorable car these days. Especially a documented big block car. I played with Fords in my younger day. Not too much touched my old fords other than the Big Blocks Chevys. I got smoked " !!!!!!!!!!!!! Now its their turn Ha Ha.
WAX-UM Nov 10th, 06, 10:03 PM This is what I got sold to finance the Chevelle. Im gonna miss her. I just didnt have time to finish it. Due to a growing family I decided to down size my current projects. Be sure to scroll through the build pages. I think you guys might like this.

68bye Nov 10th, 06, 11:53 PM Ummm, yeah. Not what I was expecting to see! Really cool though. If I were you, I'd start by getting it running. Then go through the chassis to get it mechanically fit so you can drive it. Then worry about the cosmetics. Beautiful car, I know you'll love it.
Slick71ss Nov 11th, 06, 12:33 AM Nice car, but I'm not sure it's worth the 20k as it sits now. If you haven't put any money down, I would definitely take a closer look in person before you do. Also, that build sheet looks too new/nice to be 37 years old, might wanna look into that.
Hope things turn out for you. Good luck with the build!
SoCal Bryan Nov 11th, 06, 4:50 AM The owner says, "The motor and trans in the car are not matching". Does that mean the original drive train is gone, both the block and the trans? For $20K, I would expect the block to match given the overall condition.
Either way it's a big block Chevelle, and it'll look cool when you get done! Good luck with your project!
texastornado Nov 11th, 06, 11:14 AM You guys are making me nervous. Im sure the build sheet is real. I will be picking up car next friday. Let me know if their is anything that doesnt seem right. I decided on this car because of the good documentation.
How can you be so sure? I would post a picture of it on this site and let the experts chime in, it looks like a reproduction to me.
Rick Cell Nov 11th, 06, 11:59 AM Build sheet looks like the real deal. Make sure you leave the Malibu emblems on the door panels they are correct for all Atlanta built LS5 and LS6 cars.
WAX-UM Nov 11th, 06, 6:27 PM I havent seen car yet but I did use the Buy it now button on Ebay. Im pretty much commited. Yes I do believe I payed a a fair to high price for thecar but Its hard to find a car this documented. I will inspect this week before purchase. If its as advertised I will bring her home. I understand that the motor os a 70 dated. Not sure which is more important the build sheet or original #s matching numbers. From my search I have found that almost all cars have their faults. Not numbers matching or no build sheet. I bought this car for the papers. Hummmm Hope Im doing the right thing.
Anyone know of a comparable LS6 car for sale.

Hope the new Chevelle lives up to your expectations.
tommyz66 Nov 11th, 06, 10:25 PM it looks like you paid 13k for the car? If it is the car you want and are going to keep it a while go for it. i had the same feeling when i bought mine, did i pay to much? they aren't cheap and not getting any cheaper. good luck.
