I am considering powder coating or jet coating my hood hinges and hood latch was wondering if anyone has had an experiences good or bad with either coating or is it best to just paint them. Thanks Terry

I HIGHLY recommend powdercoating. The frame on my '71 Pro Touring Chevelle was coated last winter, and the finish is unbelieveable! If you choose to bring parts to the powdercoater, ask them to sandblast prior to coating (or do them yourself) for a much nicer result. Also, you'll save some money by bringing all your parts at once, instead of repeated trips. My powdercoater runs parts thru the oven in a large batch, so there was a cost savings to bringing all parts at once.

I had my hinges/etc powder coated, and they are starting to show some wear, but they are 9+ years old, so really, it has been very durable...

I even had my wheels done at the same time, and despite the scratches from the hubcaps, they still look pretty good too...
