Any ideas on the best way to install SS and 396 emblems on fenders after painting with the fenders on the car? I notice the emblems have self threading nuts that apply to the studs on the emblems and that appears to present a slight problem in getting to the back of the fender. Appreciate any ideas or how you may have accomplished...Thanks.

You can wrap the studs with electrical tape and press them on. Easy to remove and put back when waxing the fenders.

I use an adhesive called: E6000
It is available in most art and craft stores. Best stuff I have ever seen for a varity of projects.
A friend of mine that owns two body shops buys it by the case since I told him about it.

You also can use "barrel nuts". You install them in the hole from the outside of the fender and simply push your emblem on. Downside: the hole needs to be slightly larger than original & the elmblem will stand of the fender around .020 thou. Upside: you can pull them on & off with your hands. Bodyshop supply stores usually have them

Thanks to all for your ideas, think I will try the barrel nuts, have used those before on Ford Mustangs(sorry)....although will also look into that adhesive, could be used for other stuff.
