My bro is looking at going the way of a crate motor for his '72 (i built my own motor so i dont know a lot of places to look). He is currious of some places to look in to that sell good quality SBCs (basically either short block or long block carburated pump gas engines) that have a lot of different hp ratings and are reasonably priced!! Any good places to look that are good to do business with???? Thanks for the help guys

The GM performance crate motors are a great deal, all new parts with a warranty. I just purchased a 260 hp 350 from Jegs for $1,400 that included shipping.

I would say the GM crate motors are your best bet if any warranty issues arose later on.

I could tell you of a guy that bought a race motor from a place that refused to make adjustments when it was discovered that the internal parts were not what was listed on the build sheet. But I believe there are rules on here that prohibit bashing vendors!:)
