Hello all,
I have a 70 SS Chevelle street/race car that's getting ready to go through a complete paint job. Due to the fact that the car was previously primed when the metal was too cold and the car was never sanded correctly, all the primer and paint is cracked or peeling and the car needs to be completely stripped.
Normally I would just say to dip the car and be done with it, but since it has a full cage installed and the body/frame is one unit, this isn't possible.
I plan to strip the shell with a chemical stripper but I'm more worried about the doors, fenders and trunk lid. The fenders are NOS pieces with the electrostatic primer process. Would it be better to have these pieces dipped or just chemically strip them? I have a place about an hour away that does the strip process, just not the primer.
Any info or tips on how to do this correctly are greatly appreciated as I need to move on this pretty quick. They are looking to start on the car Wednesday!!
