I have a 66 Chevelle SS 4 speed car. The back up lights do not work and I don't think the problem is electrical. Any ideas?

fuse? How can it not be electrical, thats how they work? Is it wired up to your transmission? Did it used to work? Was it originally a column shift auto car? Some more info would be great. Good luck. :beers:

Bulbs any good? Thats usually the first thing to go. Then the next thing to go is the wire to the back up switch in the tranny. I have seen many of them broken. They get flexed a zillion times in 34 years.

Power to the bulb sockets? They didn't work on my 66 4 speed car when I bought it..........checked it out, no switch at trans.....bought switch, installed, problem solved.
