: Media blasting or chemical dip in south west Ohio?
sportster Apr 22nd, 02, 8:23 AM I'm trying to find any companies that do either chemical stripping or media blasting in the south west Ohio area.
I wanted to have my hood, fenders and possible my doors. Doesn't one of them take off everything, including old bondo? If anyone knows of a place that does this please post it.
70Z15 Apr 22nd, 02, 9:20 AM Chemical dipping will take off everything. Media blasting will only take off paint. It won't take off rust, and I don't think it will take off bondo. There is a place in the Chicago area that chemical dips. They can even dip entire car bodies.

CC67 Apr 22nd, 02, 10:02 AM There was another message about this recently, where someone recommended Redistrip in Columbus. They have a website, www.redistrip.com. (http://www.redistrip.com.)
Captain Crankshaft Apr 22nd, 02, 10:55 AM You can try American Metal Cleaning also. There are near Tri-County Mall (Princeton Pike).
They are not the cheapest, or the friendliest fellows (been sniffing too many fumes) but they'll get the job done.

sportster Apr 22nd, 02, 11:41 AM Hey, thanks for the replys. I thought that the chemical dipping was the one that removed everything. Keep'em coming, the more places the better.
Thanks
deejay Apr 22nd, 02, 2:11 PM There is a place called American Reclaiming Co. on New Haven Rd. just off of S.R.128 who does bead blasting. They are good as well as fair priced. I don't have their # right now, but they are in the Cinti. Yellow Pages under Sandblasting. Where in Cinti are you? If you know where Rumke Ballpark is, New Haven Rd. is right there.

sportster Apr 22nd, 02, 3:07 PM Deejay, are they a real small shop? I called them and some lady just took a message and said they would call me when they checked their messages. Deejay, have you delt with them?
deejay Apr 22nd, 02, 3:39 PM Sportster, Yes they are a small shop. I had a lot of small parts done by them last summer.(control arms, fender extentions, etc.) Whenever I called, I talked directly to the man in charge. Whenever they are in the back working, they can't hear the phone ring,so they might have an answering service now. Are you sure you called the same place. It's listed as a Harrison address and the # starts with 738. If you need any help contacting them, let me know. I drive past the place everyday.
sportster Apr 22nd, 02, 4:31 PM deejay,I got in touch with them. Brandon called me back and gave me a quote of $375 to do my hood, fenders and doors! They seem like a good bunch when I was talking to them on the phone. He said they sometimes sand blast parts that are heavly caked up and plastic blast everything else. Thanks for the help.
By the way do you go down to Edgewater at all? I try to go down on Fridays for test and tune to watch. We'll have to meet up some time.
Thanks again!
deejay Apr 22nd, 02, 4:49 PM Sportster, I'm glad I was able to help. Yes, they are nice guys there. No, I never make it to Edgewater. I always have to work on Fri. night. The only day I could ever get there is on Sunday. I've always wanted to go to see the "Bottlerat" run, but it seems like I always have something else that needs to be done on my day off http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif
