Hi folks, new to the forum but I've been around and active in other forums for years now. I grew up in Kentucky and owned with my dad a 66 SS396 that he bought from the original owner in 1972 for about 30 years. He offered to let me have it and take it to Georgia where I live now but honestly I knew he could sell it and pay off the house he and my mom lived in. I don't regret not taking the car but I do miss it. It served a purpose that was much more important to me then owning it myself. Anyway enough of the family sacrifice story.

Since then, I've owned and restored/modified a 1987 Harley softail from the frame up (that I kept), a few 65 mustangs, one 65 fastback, an 86 corvette, and modified/lowered/pimped out a couple of new F150 trucks. Now I'm finished with the bike and don't have a car to play with. I like my cars to be drivers but look really stock, stock type wheels, factory interiors, factory ride height, basically sleepers on the surface but with modern upgrades for safety. I'm not hung up on keeping a numbers matching car as long as it looks clean and uncluttered. I like to drive them, cars are just fun for me.

So, as soon as I find a 66/67 or a 68/72 chevelle I'll be posting progress and asking a bunch of questions. Hopefully even giving back some to the forum if possible too. I'm in Flowery Branch, GA. so if anybody has a project or roller around my area feel free to contact me too. I'm currently searching ebay, the trader, and craigslist. Nothing yet but I know it takes time.

Later on, and it was nice to meet each of you.

Mike

Thanks I'll check them out too. I'd like to find something local within a few hundred miles and to start with about $5000 since I'll probably change/replace most everything anyway.

Did they sell that 68 138 car yet? that looked like a great place to start.
