im sending my car in for paint soon and would like to just send the body and fenders, hood, etc. this way i can have the frame blasted and powdercoated and set up my suspension and drivetrain while the car's at paint

so how do you guys get the body to the shop?

should i

a) tow the car there, then lift the body off and place on a dolly there? then tow rolling chassis home (put on flatbed)

b) somehow load the body(shell) onto a flatbed?

or c) ?

Assuming you have the dolly available to you, (if not, make one) I'd pull the body off at home, place it on the dolly, they put the body in/on a car trailer and take it to the body shop.

I had my body shop pull the body for me, Then took the frame home for suspension, powder coat etc.. I had a spare flatbed around where it sat at my office while i was getting close on the frame. Then took body back to the body shop and had to make a dolly. I just used 4x6 treated lumber and 8" Metal casters from Northern. Have around 75, bucks in the dolly and it works pretty well.
