I have a Chevelle SS396 that needs a new trunk pan, trunk inner filler panels, rear deck filler panel, tail section and quarter panels. I was just wondering if there is a proper sequence to replace these panel sections. This is going to be a lot of work and I just want to make sure I don't make it any harder. Thanks.

What year is it?

Panel replacment is best done one part at a time. DO NOT REMOVE ALOT AT ONCE. You will have a hard time trying to line everything up and putting it back together. I would suggest doing the trunk floor first and dropoffs then doing the outter wheels and finally putting the quarters on. Just make sure to take it very slow take lots of pictures and measurments and do not remove more than you need to. The more metal left in while your doing this the stronger the car is and the easier it will be to realign panels.

Maybe this will help.

Go to project cars link and then Chevelle. Be sure to scroll the bottom of each page. They replaced major sheetmetal on this car.
