OK, I'm working on my 72 hardtop repairing the front body mounts. She's supposed to be a beater/driver until my other two are on the road, the queens. I tried to detach the body mount but every time I stuck the socket up there very large chunks of rust came out. So I whacked the side of the rail with a hammer a couple of times, right at the front corner where the front clip is welded into the side rails.

UH-OH! The hammer dislodged a ton of rust, but unfortunately the frame rail is now sporting a few new access holes. I am considering either chopping her up, or swapping in another frame. She's probably headed for the crusher, it needs toe boards, complete front body mounts, patches in the floors with a few mount issues too, trunk outboard pans/mounts/dropoffs, quarters patched at the usual lower end plus the rear corners above the taillights are rotted, and maybe inner fenderwells (ya think?).

What is the going rate for a clean, useable frame, stripped? And if I found a shell, what is the going rate on a stripped shell? Option three is to find a stripped out shell and swap the stuff over, if the frame was good I'd consider doing floorpans and trunk pans on it, but not everything that this car needs. Either that or track down what I really want for a driver, 69 camaro shell.
