I'm going rounds and losing to the door striker on the right side of my 69. I've moved it, shimmed it, just can't seem to find the right spot so the door latches. It latches but I can still push in on it and the door moves inward with the door lined up with the 1/4 panel. I yield to the pros. smile.gif

Don't know your experience level so I will do basics first.
Latch has two positions. Primary-fully latched, and secondary- first latch stage.
Open door, take a screwdriver, use it like it is the striker. Latch should have two latching positions. The first stage is the "secondary". Second stage is primary, or fully latched. In other words, first click, second click--fully latched. Even fully latched, the latch hook lever still has some play to push it farther in.
Carefully inspect striker for looseness in bushing collar. That is the part that looks like a sleeve @ knob end of striker. If the bushing is loose it will be very difficult to properly adjust door striker.
Maybe, just maybe the striker is too far in, therefore, allowing only secondary latching.
If it is not too far in, and your inspections verify conditions of latch and striker, find a local body person to consult with.

Just get it lineed up when the latch is fully closed (on the second click). The weatherstripping will hold the door out. Usually, you can push the door in a little more when it's latched.
Some vehicles on the road have a lot of movement if you push in on the doors.

T-Man,
Do you have the rubber door stops in place? There should be 2 per door an upper and a lower. This should help control the inward movement. You can see where they go. There should be 2 sets of verticle holes aprox 1/4 inch dia., located just inside the door edge. The stop is rectangular in shape and aprox 3/8 thick with rounded edges. If these are not installed the door will move inward after latching.
These door stops and correct latch adjustment control the movement in and out not the weather stripping. The weather stripping is just a seal.

Brian, I forgot about the bumpers.
I personally found that aligning the glass plain sucked. I spent hours (or days?) working at it.
