Just got into tackling the rear window frame and was wondering if any of you guys had any hints or suggestions about how to go about this. There are several areas where the metal through and would be a painstaking task to weld those back in. Are there replacement panels that will go in there. Thanks for any help.

If you are talking about the panel between the window and the tronk lid, there are indeed replacements available. Check with our sponsor, Groundup or with Year One.

I have a camino with the same problem. I bought the piece to weld in but I'm not sure if my window is still okay. It's a little rough with some pit marks but nothing that has holes in it. Think it is salvageable???

If there are no holes or even just pinholes you can use silver POR 15 and their epoxy putty to fairly permanently fix the problem. This fix will be as durable as the original metal was if properly prepared and done.

One thing I outta ask also. Once the metalwork is all said and done, should I just go over it with sealer or paint it with the car or what?
