I'm converting my 71 chevelle to a super sport and was wondering if the dash harness is the same for the standard dash gauges compaired to the super sport gauges any help would be great,thanks

If converting from a sweep speedo to round guages the dash harness is different. Bulkhead at firwall is the same but connectors at dash are very different. Might be slight difference in engine harness as well but not sure in that year.

Also there are two choices for SS dash, idiot lights and tach/gauges.
The big difference between mailbu and SS style is in the gauge panel connections, malibu has separate lights and wiring for the indicators and gas gauge, SS has one 12 pin connector for all the lights and gauges. If you are adept at electrical you can go to the wrecking yard and get a donar 12 pin connector from many chevrolet 70's models, camaro, truck, nova and maybe others. Leave about a foot of wire and splice into the malibu harness.
Idiot light gauge panel requires no mods to forward harness.
Tach/gauges requires two wires for the amp gauge and you need to replace the temp sender.
