Well I purchased a 1975 2-Door Caprice that has a fresh rebuilt 454 Engine with a new 350 Turbo transmission.

Currently I have a 350 Engine and 350 Turbo Transmission in my 1972 2-Door Chevelle.

My question is:
Will the new Engine/Transmission go into my Chevelle fine
If it won't fill will I need a new drive shaft, or should I just keep my old transmission.

OR

Is there some way to measure and calculate if it will work in my chevelle prior to pulling all the parts out and trying to get it to fit.

Thanks

the driveshaft length wont change.....but i think for the big block you might need new body mounts but I am not sure on that one....but physically it will fit in your chevelle

Well that is some good news there. I was afraid I was going to pull the engines/trans out and find the new ones wouldn't fit. Then swap transmissions or buy a new drive shaft.. body mounts aren't as bad.

Happen to have a quick link to some good body mounts at a reasonable price?

On another note, the Caprice has a new posi rear end, not sure of the bolt as I had it towed to the house today since the brakes don't work, but any chance that rear end might fit my car?

I hate to scrap/junk a part I might be able to use on the chevelle.. now if I only had a bench seat instead of buckets I could use the newly redone bench seat:sad:

Just install the engine and trans, if you need a new driveshaft you need a new driveshaft. If you do need a new one, you have to wait until everything is inside of the car before you can measure for the length of the driveshaft anyway.
