I just finished rebuilding my engine--complete rebuild with all new parts (crank, cam, heads, ect...). When I put the motor back in my car and started it up for the first time, I could hear a little noise coming from my torque converter. There was also a spot on my TH350 where fluid was leaking out--it looked like a seal broke somewhere but it wasnt that bad.

After driving my new motor around for about 2 or 3 days with no problems at all, I started feeling like my tranny was slipping when Id be cruising at around 45 mph. I dont have my kickdown hooked up and even if i tried to down shift or upshift manually it wouldnt do anything. Ill just be driving and itl be fine for a while and then it will slip (i think) and it sounds like the rpms go way up and ill have to let off the gas a little and put into 2nd and itll catch for a little and then do the same thing.

Do I need to rebuild my whole tranny or could i just replace the Torque Converter with a higher stall (around 2500--I have the compcams 268)

did you make the engine and tranny flush by tigtening the bolts and jam the converter, because if you did you could damage the front pump and then by driving it you could wipe out the transmission, did the converter spin freely after you bolted the trans.:clonk: hope this is helpful

i never took out my tanny, or drained it. when i put the engine back in i was able to rotate the flywheel with the torque converter to get all the bolts tight.
