Is it possible for lube to leak from the bolts that hold the case together? I had new gaskets put in my tranny and it still looks like its leaking from the rear by one of the bolts that holds the case together.

Yep, It's possible. But, not seeing or knowing the particulars about how it was put back together, it is impossible to diagnose exactly why it is leaking from a new gasket. Did you replace the gaskets, or did someone else do it?

Someone else did it, I wouldn't know where to begin. I was going to pull the bolts out one by one and put some Indian Head sealer on the heads and replace them.

Unlike a T-10, none of the bolt holes at the rear of a Muncie case go into the inside of the case. So, if it is leaking around a bolt head, then it has to be coming from around the gasket, and then out from around the bolt hole. If you'll pull it out and run it by my place, I'll be happy to take a look at it! :D

Thanks Tom!! Wait and I'll go out and drop it right now and throw it in a suitcase and use some of my frequent flyer miles!! Actually, it doesn't leak that badly, I just want to fix it. Now I have some other problems that I need to fix first. I should just drop the whole thing and put a 5 speed in it and be done.

Amen Mark, I find myself in much the same position. When I did the motor swap I replaced all the shaft seals in the Muncie hoping to stop the drip. It still drips and appears to be coming out around the midplate. I have a gasket set but that is really not a project I want to do... would much rather jump to the Tremec tranny.
