I've been doing some research here and can't quite find the answer to my question. What can you suggest for getting a permanent primer look on a car? I was reading about epoxy primer and it sounds like that is good, but still allows moisture in over time. True?

Tom, I think all primers need a paint top coat to completely seal the metal. If you want the permanent primer, do some semi gloss clear coat on top.

Why not do like I did. After the body was primered/sanded, I sprayed two coats of clear to seal everything, scuffed, and sprayed another couple coats of primer as the topcoat to get the "California suede" look I was after. Worked good for me.
